Nuhra2021 Ode 40

Ode 40 And My Lips Bring Forth a Song of Praise 1 As the honey drips from the honeycomb of bees, and milk flows from the woman who loves her children, so also is my hope in you, my God. 2 As a spring gushes out its waters, so my heart gushes out praises of the Lord, and my lips bring forth a song of praise to him. 3 And my tongue is sweet in his songs, and my limbs are fattened with his odes, 4 and my face rejoices with exultation in him, and my spirit exults in his love, and my soul shines in him. 5 And reverence will trust in him, and redemption will be made firm in him. 6 And the inheritance (of redemption) is deathless life, and those who receive (deathless life) are imperishable. Hallelujah!

About this edition

The Odes of Solomon — The Nuhra Version (2021)

Unverified edition

Reading language: eng · Original language (catalog): Ancient source language(s)

Recorded completeness: Complete authors’ supplied Nuhra2021 English edition, including translations from Syriac, Coptic and Greek, parallel source versions, dedication and editorial sigla. Its Ode2 is explicitly labelled by the authors as a hypothetical reconstruction from Greek Ode11; this label is preserved in the Ode2 body and not treated as surviving original source text. All missing-text brackets, conjectural-emendation markers and explanatory glosses are preserved without alteration. This is a modern independently public-domain-dedicated translation, not a historical printing or original-language witness.. Available reading sections are listed below.
